Connection Through Christ - We offer a leadership development program for students in grades 4th-8th. This after school program uses the Bible and Jesus’ ministry as a guide to learn about leadership and disability. Each week, students are challenged to grow in their faith, develop leadership skills and use what they are learning to impact their schools, churches and communities.

Teacher Training - We offer DSS certified professional development training for teachers in private Christian schools. Teachers learn about disability, the value of inclusion of students with disabilities and are equipped with tools and strategies to create disability-inclusive and accessible classrooms and schools.

Parent Training and Support - We offer training and support for parents of children with disabilities. Our training provides parents with tools and strategies for raising a child with a disability. We also provided one-on-one support for parents navigating the challenges of raising a child with a disability.

Our school-based programs and trainings are rooted in Scripture. We approach teaching about disability through two main ideas:

     1. people with and without disabilties need access to the Gospel and church, and

     2. people with and without disabilities are valuable, invited and have a God-given purpose.

Surprisingly, many believers are unaware of what Scripture says about disabilitiy and the number of stories of people with disabilities in the Bible. We challenge students and staff alike to explore both the Old and New Testaments to develop a disability theology. Through our programs and trainings, students and staff begin to recognize that a careful study of disabiliity in Scripture reveals that people with disabilities are valuable, invited and have a God-given purpose. This truth leads to additional discussion of how our modern day churches, schools and communities can be more accessible to people with disabilities so they can have access to the good news of the Gospel and be part of their local church, school and community.

Serving families and birth mothers in NC and SC. For over 40 years we have existed to minister to birth mothers and adoptive families and we have placed over 2,000 children into loving, Christian homes.

We are Larry and Cathy Lawrence. We lost our 14 year old son Christopher to suicide on January 22, 2019. Shortly after our tragedy, we determined we would do everything in our power to help other parents and their children to not have to experience what we went through, and began a search to find a way to help.

Our search led us to Hope Squads, founded by Dr. Greg Hudnall, in Provo, Utah. Hope Squads are groups of students in a school, nominated by their peers as someone they could go to if they had a problem. Hope Squads are not trained as counselors, but become the eyes and ears of the school, looking for at risk youth due to bullying, failing grades, lonliness, signs of self-harm or suicide. They then direct the student to a counselor or mental health person.

Our vision is to have Hope Squads in every middle and high school in South Carolina. We are beginning with two schools in the Boiling Springs area. Each school must have at least one Advisor, usually a school counselor, mental health person, or a teacher.

We are very excited to report that on October 9, 2020, we held an Advisor Training at High Point Academy, where 9 Advisors were trained for HPA and Boiling Springs Middle School. Both schools will begin Hope Squads this year.

Hope Squads have been shown to change the atmosphere of a school, and destigmatize the discussion of mental health, as well as saving lives.

Latest update, is that we will have at least 5 more schools beginning Hope Squads for the 2021-22 school year. Four are in District 2 of Spartanburg County, and one is in Greenville County.

Brief Description of Your Organization's Activities: Defend the Fatherless aims to build community within local foster and adoptive families while we care for their physical, emotional, educational, financial and spiritual needs. We do this through key programming which includes: The York County Foster Closet, Connection and Respite Events, Mental Health Scholarships, Adoption Grants and specialized programming including Back 2 School and Santa's Helper. At the York County Foster Closet, families can shop at no cost for essential items such as clothing, diapers, baby equipment, car seats and beds. They can even take home a frozen meal to help ease the burden of a busy day. We aim to build community within an often isolated population through regular occurring connection events. One hundred percent of the families we serve have experienced trauma and we help offset the rising costs of mental health services through our Mental Health Scholarship. Adding to a family through adoption is expensive and we help by providing an Annual Adoption Grant to deserving families who have previously walked out the call of James 1:27. During our Back 2 School program, children in foster care are able to wish for a dream pair of shoes and they are given those shoes and a backpack filled with school supplies as a way to make their first day of school extra special. Having extra children in the home at Christmas time can be expensive and some times chaotic. With our partnership with York County DSS, Defend the Fatherless helps provide Christmas to all of the children in York County who are experiencing foster care during the holiday season.

We are very excited to be in the process of publishing the FACES of Total Victory Devotional Bible to give to all who participate in these events. This will be the first Devotional Bible with content included specifically for female athletes and coaches, as all the devotions are being written by women who competed at the professional, Olympic, or collegiate level. Kristi Overton Johnson Ministries conducts prison ministry within the SC Department of Corrections through its Victorious Living Magazine, and Victorious Living Correspondence Outreach, and on-site prison events. KOJM and its prison outreaches were founded by North Carolina native Kristi Overton Johnson. Kristi was a world champion water skier who saw opportunities in prison to share her faith and lessons from her athletic career with inmates. Through her publication, mentoring program, inmate family support, and evangelical events, Kristi and her team encourage the hearts of inmates, equip their minds with God's truth, and empower them to live victorious lives. The VL magazine and prison outreach began in 2011 and has since impacted the lives of over 1 million inmates nationwide. In 2020, it expanded it's VL magazine and correspondence to the Hispanic prison population.

This organization provides information and support on topics such as Christian faith, addiction recovery, grief care, anxiety, re-entry, recidivism, prison life, isolation and loneliness, family dynamics, suicide awareness, and depression through its publication, Victorious Living. VL magazine is distributed in every state prison in SC and Kristi partners with the SC DOC to hold on-site evangelical events. Many members of the prison correspondence team who provide faith discipleship live in South Carolina. Support is provided to Spanish and English speaking inmates and their families.

Restoration

Lighthouse for Life is pursuing opening a safe home for females age 12-21 who are rescued from sex trafficking. This home will serve residents from all over SC. The home is located in Richland County. The home is furnished and we are debt free.

We have titled this Program Karis Home. Karis is the Greek word for grace. The core value of our ministry is "grace wins." Christ has demonstrated his grace for us by giving His life to redeem us.  Our staff will in turn demonstrate grace and love to our residents.  Karis Home is designed to be a long term restoration home that will house up to 5 survivors at a time. We will offer a trauma informed program unique designed with Individual Care Plans taylored to each resident. We will provide all necessary things for the resdients including education, counseling, medical care, etc. Karis Home is a licensed safe home with the South Carolina Department of Social Services. We are a contracted Level 3 program. We are currently hiring and training caregivers and desire to open our doors to residents as soon as possible.

Empowerment

Lighthouse for Life offers other avenues of ministry with the aim of bringing awareness and restoration to vulnerable populations in SC. We also provide resources for parents in order to equip them to make every home a safe and grace filled home. Brief Description of Your Organization's Activities: On the Rock Ministries sponsors bible college courses in our Prison Discipleship Program (PDP), for inmates seeking bachelor's and master's degrees in theology and counseling. The goal of the PDP is to develop Christian evangelists and disciples within prison walls to help transform violent prison culture to Christian culture. The education also provides greater employment and re-entry success for returning citizens. The positive impact is best seen in the reduction of the recidivism rate of returning citizens to our communities which lowers crime and tax dollars spent on prisons. Also, Jimmy MacPhee shares his testimony, "Voices and Choices," and is active as spiritual consultant and mentor in churches, men's groups, youth groups, Kairos Prison Ministries, School Ministries of Spartanburg County, JumpStart and New Creations prison re-entry programs, homeless shelters, and alcohol and drug rehabilitation programs.

We are a 40,000 square foot campus set up with different agencies so that clients can come to one location to get their needs met. The client comes through the main door and meets with a social worker to get their needs assessed and are then referred to the agency that can help them. It is comforting to our clients to be able to meet with one person who can help them navigate the non-profit system.

The Proactive Parenting Initiative’s (PPI) purpose is to plant

parent education centers in communities that are welcoming to the organization. The goal is to train

parents to be the positive influence in the lives of their children so that their children become

productive members of our society. To that end, educational training classes are given to parents on

how to respond to unwanted behaviors being exhibited by their children. Parents are taught to control

the child’s environment rather than trying to control the child. The core beliefs of the programs are to

praise good behaviors, to reward work, and to implement consequences for unwanted behaviors.

Consequences are focused on taking away a child’s list of desires for a short period of time.

Additionally, Proactive Parenting Initiative conducts weekend TEASPOT’s (Take Everything Away for a

Short Period of Time). This practical experiential training is based upon the teachings of the Parent

Project®’s curriculum.

Share God's word with the children, youth and families in York School District One and encourage them to meet God daily through Bible Study and prayer. It is our hope that they will develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, mature in the unity of the faith, and become committed church members and servants of God and mankind.

Brief Description of Your Organization's Activities: Through dynamic leadership experiences held at the State Capitol, TeenPact South Carolina provide hands-on civics education, leadership training, and Christian discipleship through its core program–the annual Four Day State Class for teens and the One Day State Class for younger students aged 8 to 12.

The State Class program exists to train and motivate teens and younger students to become informed, active citizens who value their liberty and who choose to be Christ-like servant leaders in all spheres of life. By providing discipleship and leadership opportunities, as well as skill training, TeenPact South Carolina equips students to become biblically-aligned leaders in their communities now and in the future.

Mission Statement or Ministry Purpose: The primary goal of TIBI is to train Hispanic men and women to make disciples of Jesus Christ, who make other disciples, who are then gathered into churches sharing that mission. These people are active in community development, character formation, family enrichment, conflict resolution, counseling, and social justice.

Brief Description of Your Organization's Activities: We give scholarships to certain well-qualified students who undergo a rigorous selection process, so that they can study full-time live by video conferencing to prepare themselves to serve in the local church. Our students take 42 courses in Bible text, languages, exegesis, and ministry skills, and receive a Bachelor of Biblical Studies. They also must invest at least 10 hours per week in the local church, supervised by a local church leader and our full-time field work supervisor, Carlos Camacho, who has 38 years of successful experience in church planting and nurturing.

At the end of our intensive two-year program, our students have had 1600 hours of class instruction with academically qualified professors who between them also have hundreds of years of ministry experience. They have invested at least 1000 hours in ministry in their local churches. And they have done all this from their homes and home churches, without having to leave their families and congregations to receive training. The ability to train them literally in their homes has been a crucial advantage during the coronavirus period, because they have not lost one hour of training due to quarantines or shelter in place, though most of their countries were totally shut down.

In addition to our full time scholarship students who work by video conferencing, we offer the same courses online in video format, 24/7, and also on hard drives for those who don't have access to internet. In all, we currently have about 3800 students in 76 countries.

on the continuum of care for homeless women. It is our vison to provide hope and help to women in need.

Brief Description of Your Organization's Activities: The mission of the Women’s Shelter is to offer a safe and warm place for homeless women. However, we would like to make homelessness rare, brief, and, nonrecurring. One of the ways we are attempting to accomplish this mission is by partnering with qualified service providers to provide wraparound services that would enable a woman to move from homelessness to housed. We are a basic needs shelter that provides a bed, meals, shower and laundry services daily to ensure women are safe, secure, and stable. These are foundational aspects to restoring hope and helping the women move forward with their 30-60-90 day plan.

Manner in which your organization shares the gospel of Jesus Christ: Matthew 25 is the guiding principle for how we operate. It is our desire for women to experience the love, grace and hospitality of Jesus while living at the shelter and to know God's design and purposes for each of them. The bible is our foundation for teaching and leading the women we serve. We host a weekly bible study at the shelter for the women to take part in and we refer women to biblical counseling with partner agencies.

Our Mission is to help men find sobriety, life, hope and faith. Our facility is a 6-month live-rehabilitation. The first 30 days consist of counseling, class, and studies. From there we offer job training classes and life skills classes, then on to working in the field.

Hikes to majestic waterfalls and zany, spirit-building activities and “hanging out time” with new friends bring life-long memories to kids who crave good relationships.

A qualified, dedicated group of college-aged young adults live with the campers as friends and servant-minded influencers in a small group cabin setting. Also, experienced youth speakers, who love to communicate the gospel to young people, are a part of gospel presentations each week.

We reach out to the disabled community through theavenue of loaning out tracked off-road capable wheelchairs free of charge to individuals in need. I wasparalyzed in a duck hunting accident that should have killed me, but God had other plans. It can bevery hard for an able bodied person to relate to someone especially who is paralyzed. Since I am inthe same shoes as them, I am able to share with each of our users how God spared my life bothphysically that day and eternally years prior. The trackchair is simply an avenue to develop theconnection with the person and facilitate the meeting and interaction. At the same time, offering theservice to them for free at no cost at all to them, allows them to be receptive to hearing what I have toshare with them and it is a immediate way to show them the love of Christ through action. Being ableto be outdoors is something most able bodied people take for granted. For a disabled person in awheelchair or with mobility challenges, getting even in the grass can be a huge challenge and evenimpossible. Many were able bodied at one point before a traumatic event changed the course of theirlives. We want them to know tools are out there to make things possible and for our organization, wehave our motto being Luke 1:37, "For with God, nothing will be impossible." That message can be aray of hope and being able to get out in God's creation again can be extremely therapeutic for manyof our chair users. Psalms 19:1 says that the heavens declare the glory of God and the skies proclaimthe work of his hands... To us, it is important that people with mobility challenges are able to see andexperience that!

Primarily we loan out (and even deliver ifneeded) tracked wheelchairs to individuals with mobility challenges anywhere in SC and parts of NC.We also provide resources for others out of state to find similar programs near them. We facilitatethose looking to purchase a chair for themselves to be able to find one within their budget on the

used market. We also share the story God has given us through any news interviews, or speakingengagements that arise.

To provide a safe, Christ-centered environment that encourages spiritual, professional, and personal growth to transform the lives of women. Transforming the life of one woman can transform families (future generations) and our communities.
